Artist Statement

Time is of an essence in my life, working as an artist, a domestic housewife and a mother: And my current work is relative to my life at present.

My main objective is to be true to myself as an artist maintaining issues of identity, questioning a woman’s role in society and the pressures of modern living.

I play with the instant moment and the changes related over a longer period of time,
looking at the mundane and of the everyday. I am experimenting with video, mobile phone photography combined with the use of everyday objects.

The main body of work at present is video based; its movement, its stillness, its chaos and tranquility it evokes. The presentation of my work plays a major role on the development of my ideas and its significance to the viewer.

I am currently interested in body, performance and video art looking at several artists from Eleanor Antin to Jeff Koons, Martha Rosler to Douglas Gordon, Mary Kelly to Orlan, Bruce Nauman to Gillian Wearing.
