Ruth
Parkinson
About the Artist: Ruth courts anachronism and the desire to enter into private worlds, allied to a poetic and romantic nature, fashions and informs her work. Folkestone, the reckless sea and its harbour area, continue to be pivotal themes. Although, quiet and contemplative in nature, she is a campaigning individual, fierce in the protection of her art, which itself is often a memorial to forgotten souls; a battling crusader against the advancing bulldozing of sensitivity and the individual’s place in time.
